COMPLETE ENGINE COOLING SYSTEMS
Air-cooled bar and plate heat exchangers are designed to provide a cooling solution for fluids using air, where a supply of liquid coolant isn't available. Utilising thermally efficient and lightweight aluminium throughout its construction, ambient air is forced through a complex layered fin core by an electrical, hydraulic or mechanically driven fan.
With over 200 fin pattern geometries available, our team of experienced design engineers ensures the most efficient and cost-effective heat exchanger solution is provided from application-specific thermal data.
Thermex has over 4 decades of providing complete design and engineering support for bespoke air-cooled heat exchangers, guaranteeing high-performance thermal transfer via optimised louvered fin designs depending on installation and operational constraints. Using a versatile modular approach to design, air-cooled heat exchangers can be supplied to cool a single fluid, such as engine water, or a combination of multiple discharged air or fluids:
HT & LT water/glycol mixes - engine cooling circuits.
Charge air cooling - diesel and gas turbo after-cooled engines.
Hydraulic, transmission and lubricating oil.
Diesel fuel.
Often referred to as a bar and plate combi cooler or cooling pack, a single fanned unit can be used to cool multiple air or fluid circuits for a complete engine cooling system.
