Marine Heat Exchangers

The Thermex shell and tube heat exchanger range has many uses. When used with Gun Metal headers, the 2000 series heat exchangers can be used for sea water cooled applications such as marine engines and deck handling equipment. Our standard marine heat exchangers are manufactured from corrosion resistant materials, if however a high flow rate of water is being used, or if the vessel operates in brakish water, then we can also supply the heat exchanger with our 70/30 CuNi tubestack or a Titanium tubestack to improve the length of operational service of the heat exchanger.

Some of the features of the Marine Heat Exchangers include;

• 90/10 Cupro-Nickel tubes as standard
• 70/30 Cupro-Nickel tubes available for polluted waters
• Naval Brass tube plates.
• Extruded aluminium shell (2300 and 2500 series)
• Cast aluminium shell (2700 and 2800 series)
• Gun Metal headers
• Carbon steel leak detection ring - standard on 2700 and 2800 series but also available for 2300 and 2500 series if required
• Nitrile seals (Viton seal are available for applications where operating temperatures exceed 100ºC)
