Redditch MP Karen Lumley visits Thermex to discuss plans for growth.

Thermex was host to a visit from the local MP Karen Lumley today to discuss growth plans as a result of being awarded a £127,000 grant under the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills Advanced Manufacturing Supply Chain Initiative.

Launched in March 2012, the Advanced Manufacturing Supply Chain Initiative (AMSCI) is a £125m national project aimed at increasing manufacturing sector growth potential and competitiveness of supply chains as well as attracting new manufacturers to the area.

Karen said "I enjoyed meeting staff at Thermex, who are yet another example of a successful manufacturing company being based here in Redditch. They export highly specialised equipment across the world and I am delighted they are a beneficiary of the government's support grants for ambitious specialised manufacturers. Since 2010, exports outside the EU have increased rapidly and this is vital in the long term for creating a more balanced, sustainable economy."
