The plates of the gasketed plate heat exchangers are fitted with protective; Nitrile, Viton or EPDM gaskets, to seal the inter-plate channels that direct and separate the primary and coolant fluids into alternating channels to prevent cross contamination.
Titanium or Stainless Steel Gasketed Plate Heat Exchangers are also suitable for fibrous media. The plate corrugation of the titanium or stainless steel plates in “Wide Gap” Bolted Plate Heat Exchangers provides high turbulence and high heat transfer coefficients compared to other types of heat exchangers.
